Question: What is the maximum distance between a socket outlet and a caravan pitch?

The maximum permitted distance between socket outlet and any point on the caravan pitch is 20 metres. The hook up lead should be 25 metres (+/- 2 metres) of flexible cable supplied by the caravan manufacturer. One end connects to the caravan inlet, the other plugs into the site socket.

6 metres 1.2 Every caravan shall be spaced at a distance of no less than 6 metres (the separation distance) from any other caravan which is occupied. The separation distance can be reduced provided adequate control measures are introduced to prevent the spread of fire.

Can you sleep in a caravan awning?

You can sleep in a caravan awning as long as you have the right equipment with you. It can get freezing at night though, so you should prepare for that and set up the awning appropriately.

How big should a caravan pitch be?

Sadly there is no such thing as average pitch size. The Caravan Club and C&CC pitches are very generous, about 10mx10m and units will be at least 6 metres apart while on some private sites pitches dont exist.

Does a caravan need an earth rod?

You dont need to rod down each van, but the more rods the better. The sub circuits to the vans must be protected by a 30mA RCD, although in true cross over fashion, static and touring holiday accommodation vehicles also require a 30mA RCD at their origin too. FatHands likes this.

Does a caravan awning need to be exact?

Does the awning have to be exact? Its important to try and get your awning measurement as precise as possible, however it doesnt always have to be an exact fit as the manufacturers make their products to fit a range of sizes.
