Question: What do the numbers on a Zippo mean?

The current date code system uses a letter and two-digit number to identify the month and year of manufacture. Letters A thru L represent the month (A for January, B for February, etc.) The two digits correspond to the year it was made – 14 for 2014.

Can you fly with a Zippo?

Disposable and Zippo lighters without fuel are allowed in checked bags. Lighters with fuel are prohibited in checked bags, unless they adhere to the Department of Transportation exemption, which allows up to two fueled lighters if properly enclosed in a DOT approved case.
